Join us for an exciting weekend of music, drumming and dance!
Carmine is an accomplished instructor, teaching doumbek both nationally and internationally. His students compliment his lively and engaging teaching style and his ability to make complex technique and intricate rhythms easy to learn. Located in New York City, Carmine is a member of several music ensembles including Middle Eastern fusion group "Djinn," the traditional music group "The Turkish Band Camp All Stars," as well as playing percussion for "Pangia." Carmine has been featured as a musician on several other CDs and DVDs.(www.carmine.com)

Baby Beginner Doumbek:
In this workshop, you will learn the proper hand/finger techniques to produce clean beautiful sounds from your doumbek. You will learn how to play several traditional Middle Eastern rhythms as well as how to switch between them.
This workshop is perfect for beginners or experienced drummers who want to brush up or clean up their technique.
This workshop is also fantastic for dancers who want to educate themselves about the basic rhythms.

2:30-3:30pm- Taught by Carmine
Begintermediate Doumbek:Only 5 spots left - register at Door
You know a bunch of rhythms...now what? Let's get "Beyond Baladi". You will learn practical rhythm combinations useful for playing songs and making your drum circle more fun. You will also learn how to add fills and embellishments to make your playing more interesting. This workshop is perfect for anyone who already knows the basic hits and rhythms.

This workhop is a multi-level class for both Drummers & Dancers. Both Drummers and Dancers will learn to build a drum solo & improvising techniques. Drummers will learn how to play something interesting and exciting for dancers and dancers will recieve tips and techniques to use to your drummer's new rock star riffs!
