Yasmine's Class Descriptions: All Weekday Classes Taught by Yasmine / Saturday Classes Taught by Magic Hips Instructor: Huriyyah.
Monday & Saturday ATS classes taught by Jenny

Beginner Basics:
This class focuses on explaining the technique and execution of fundamental bellydance movements per Yasmine's dance curriculum to help students build a strong foundation in Middle Eastern dance. This class will also include an introduction to basic Finger cymbal (zills) technique. Students will need zills for this class. Recommended for New/Beginner Level Students.

Belly Escentuals: All Levels welcome. Get Fit, Play with a Prop & Shimmy! It is Bellydance circuit training. This class is designed to increase strength and flexibility and will consist of exercises to stretch and tone the muscles used in bellydance, then switch gears and spend time learning a few tricks and techniques with a prop (which is a great way to work your arms and shoulders), and then move into overdrive and focus on drilling basic shimmy techniques for shimmying power and endurance! * Dancers should always have zills & veil & cane or dowel as prop focus will vary each class- Yasmine has some props available for use at the studio

Beyond Basics: This class is geared toward the beginner plus/intermediate level dancer and will introduce fundamental drills for flexibility, increased range of motion, and focus on thoroughly explaining the execution of basic intermediate techniques and dance movement per Yasmine's dance curriculum.

Dangerous Curves: This class is geared for intermediate & advanced dancers and will Introduce dance techniques with a Sword. Slide into floorwork, learn to dance with ease and how to present your dangerous curves Yasmine style. * Dancers will need to bring own sword for this class & kneepads.

Fit for Bhangra: All levels welcome in this high energy fun innovative dance workout often referred to as the Hip-Hop of Indian dance that will keep you hopping to the beat.

Freestyle with Yasmine: This class is designed to teach students how to listen and improvise to drum solos through various methods of guided improv techniques to Middle Eastern Rhythms and putting the techniques & practice to the test with pre-recorded drum solos. This class also includes discussion on working with a live drummer.

Funky Fusion- This class is geared toward intermediate / advanced dancers & includes cabaret technique mixed with a spicy blend of tribal fusion, club-style, and jazz topped with Yasmine’s own Funky flare & cutting edge style that can be used for a variety of modern fusion routines.

Intro to Polynesian & Belly-Mix: All dancers welcome with basic bellydance foundation. This class will introduce basics to Polynesian dance combined with bellydance to create a fusion of these styles as seen performed by Sonia of the Bellydance Superstars.

Khaliji This class is geared for all levels and will introduce the Gulf women's folkloric dance known as Khaliji or Khaleeji which is performed in groups to celebrate special occasions. *Dancers will need a thobe or may use a veil-Yasmine has some thobes for use at studio

Rhythmic Dancers: Beginner Tabla & Basic Rhythms: Dancers can be drummers too! This class is open to anyone wishing to learn Beginner Basic Tabla (Doumbek) techniques and will introduce saying, identifying and playing some basic Middle Eastern Rhythms. As a dancer, I (Yasmine) highly recommend all dancers to learn to play the tabla as it will ony benefit your dance! And will help you to actually hear & identify the rhythms in your favorite songs as well as be able to communicate with a drummer. *Must provide your own tabla/doumbek for this class & you may wish to provide your own stool or chair for comfort.

Rhythm & Zills: A portion of this class will focus on listening, saying & identifying some of the popular basic Middle Eastern rhythms and will also provide Drills for continued study of finger cymbal patterns. This class is geared to dancers who already possess some basic zill technique.

Suhaila Basic Prep: This class is designed to help prepare dancers for Suhaila Salimpour's challenging and innovative Level 1 belly dance technique. Yasmine will provide an overview on how to prepare for taking a workshop with the Real Suhaila!!
